Net Metering as a Service

The smart meter mandated under Kenya's EPRA net metering regulations is only the measurement layer. NuruCore EMS is the intelligence layer — deciding when to charge batteries vs. export surplus power to maximise bill credit accumulation, when to curtail generation to avoid anti-islanding trips, and how to forecast production for next-day optimisation. We manage the entire net metering lifecycle end-to-end.

02 — Virtual Power Plants

Virtual Power Plants

Every NuruCore EMS device deployed at a C&I site is a potential VPP node — already collecting real-time telemetry, running AI inference, and executing dispatch commands. Our VPP platform aggregates these edge nodes across industrial zones (Athi River, Ruiru, Thika, Mombasa EPZ) into software-managed micro-VPP clusters. The progression: single-site EMS → multi-site portfolio DERMS → licensed VPP operator with EAPP regional trading.

Grid-connected with autonomous island mode capability — NuruCore EMS's Zephyr M4F safety state machine handles grid-forming control and anti-islanding in real time. Every unit has a clear pathway from standalone mini-grid to future VPP node.
